Hyundai Palisade leaked before the official unveiling
ABU DHABI: Not before then the last week, we covered a story about Hyundai’s latest SUV. The South Korean manufacturer has been caught testing the Palisade on many occasions. The official name, Palisade, finally made its way out just a few days ago and now the images have also been leaked. The Hyundai Palisade is all set to debut at the Los Angles Motor Show later this month, but a sneak peek of a new toy is always welcome, right?
The 3-row SUV was first seen as a concept vehicle and was named the “Grandmaster”. With a few tweaks here and there, the production model is quite similar to the concept vehicle. The headlights are now not integrated into the grille and are independent units. Inspired by the Santa Fe, the headlights feature the dual-tier approach as well. Safety sensors at the front are hidden behind a single slat on the lower intakes.
True to the concept is the side view of the Palisade, the chrome trim from A all the way to the C pillar is found on the production model as well. Also retained on the final SUV are the bold wheel arches which provide the Palisade with that muscular stance. We expect the Palisade to offer more headroom for the passengers in the third row as compared to the Grandmaster concept. The much aggressive rooflines from the concept are unlikely to be carried over and will probably make way for a conventional design. With no images of the production variant Palisade interior, it is hard to comment on what it would be like. But we expect the interior to be carried over from the Grandmaster concept.
In terms of power, the Hyundai Palisade is expected to feature a 3.3-litre or a 3.5-litre V6 motor. It will be the same engine that is being used on the Sorento. However, the exact powertrain of the SUV will only be known once the Palisade makes its way to the podium near the end of this month.
