Hyundai displays the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept at the Busan International show
ABU DHABI: What we are looking at here is probably a glimpse of the upcoming full-size SUV which could be the successor of the seven-seater Santa Fe.
Hyundai recently displayed its upcoming SUV concept at the 2018 Busan International Motor Show. Previously, the company introduced the Le Fil Rouge Concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2018 that gave us a basic idea of Hyundai’s upgraded design philosophy. While the first concept introduced the emotive and flamboyant side of the design module, the second concept enhances the versatility.
“Sensuous Sportiness” is synchronisation of four key elements involved in this design language: proportion, architecture, styling, and technology.
The name Grandmaster derived from the intriguing game of chess. While the world’s finest chess players are called Grandmasters, similarly the future Hyundai vehicles would be a harmonious vehicle line-up showcasing the original Hyundai look while carrying a distinctive profile.
The Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster concept is big and will bring out a VW Teramont rivalling vehicle targeting the North American and Middle Eastern market. The design integrates a cascading grill, giant alloy wheels, and classic door handles that blends perfectly with the bodywork. Towards the rear end, are the beautifully designed vertical tail lamps resembling those of the Cadillac Escalade.
Hyundai is yet to release the production version of the HDC-2 Grandmaster. It could share dynamics with the Kia Telluride concept’s version that is already under testing.
