Auto Expo 2020: GWM unveils Haval F5
China’s largest pickup truck and sports utility vehicle (SUV) manufacturer Great Wall Motors (GWM) has unveiled the Haval F5 at the Auto Expo 2020 which is currently being held at Greater Noida in India. The company currently sells the Haval H6 in the Fashionable and Supreme trims in UAE. The H6 Fashionable is pegged at AED 59,900.
GWM will enter the Indian market with a series of SUVs that include the Haval F7.
The GWM Haval F5 is hauled by a turbocharged, 1.5-litre petrol motor which produces 168 PS maximum power and 285 Nm peak torque. The motor is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). A 6-speed manual gearbox will be available as an option. The H5 is a front-wheel-drive car and comes in the Sport, Eco, and Standard driving modes.
The Haval F5 has a neat interior layout with the central console angled towards the driver. The car comes with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display system, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument console, automatic headlamps with LED and daytime running lights (DRLs), and rear and front fog lamps. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Standard safety features of the car comprise dual front airbags and rear parking sensors.
The GWM Haval F5 has a chrome-trimmed large grille in the front. Other highlights include a faux skid plate and angular and slim headlights. The car, on its side, has a sharp shoulder line to forge the sporty look. The F5 has a coupe-like profile because of the sloping roofline. The tailgate design is uncluttered. The LED taillights sport the ‘Haval’ logo. The F5 is underpinned by the F6 platform.
Besides the H6, Haval also sells the H2 and H9 SUVs in UAE. The latter is a full-sized SUV.
