2025 Kia EV3 teased ahead of global debut

ABU DHABI: Kia teases the EV3 electric car, which is the smaller sibling of the EV5, ahead of its global debut in May. The debut is scheduled for May 23, and overseas sales will commence in the third quarter of 2024. Currently, there is no information available regarding its launch timing in the UAE.

In terms of dimensions, the Kia EV3 shares similarities with the Seltos. For cost efficiency, it features a scaled-down version of the Kia-Hyundai electric platform with a 400-volt architecture. Due to this charging architecture, its charging speed will be slower compared to the EV9 and EV6 based on 800-volt units. 

The automaker has confirmed that the production-spec EV3 bears similarities with its concept revealed last year in South Korea, borrowing many design cues from the flagship EV9 SUV. Kia entails the EV3 as a feature-rich and feature-rich EV SUV. It boasts innovative technology and outstanding performance.

While the EV3’s exterior closely resembles the concept, notable adjustments can be seen within the cabin. The production model will have a more conventional flat-bottom steering wheel design departing from the concept’s oval shape. Additionally, the dashboard will have physical buttons, pedals, door panels, and traditional air vents, which are absent in the concept version.

A G3 variant will be launched following the debut of the standard EV3 range aligning with the strategy of Kia to offer high-performance variants across its dedicated new electric-car models.
