2019 GMC Sierra Elevation will get only cosmetic upgrades

ABU DHABI: GMC is girding up its loins to launch the new 2019 Sierra Elevation pretty soon. Recently, GMC's upcoming car test vehicle was spotted wearing very less camouflage. The spy shots reveal that there won't be a host of upgrades in the new iteration of the Sierra Elevation.

As you can see in the latest spy shots, there is very little camouflage on the face of the vehicle. It surrounds the border of the front grille, brand logo, and entire front bumper. So, these are the things scheduled to get a makeover. Just like at the front, GMC is reworking on the rear bumper of the new 2019 Sierra Elevation making it more synchronised with the front end.

People who were expecting to see a brand-new model of the Sierra Elevation in its 2019 avatar will be disappointed. As GMC is focussing more on the looks than functionality. Rumours suggest that there would hardly be any significant change in the interior of the new 2019 GMC Sierra Elevation.

On the mechanical front, the new GMC Sierra Elevation will be offered in three engine choices - a 5.3 litre V8 that will produce 355 bhp of max power and 519 Nm of peak torque, a 6.2 litre V8 that churns out 420 hp and 624 Nm, and the last but not the least, a 3.0 litre diesel mill which will be introduced sometime later after the launch. Speculations of using the Chevy Silverado sourced 2.7-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates 310 hp, and 472 Nm of torque is also making rounds.

At this point, there are no details related to the launch and pricing of the 2019 GMC Sierra Elevation. It is expected to hit the showrooms during the end of 2018 or early 2019. Keep checking this space for more information.
