2019 Dubai International Motor Show - What to expect?
The biggest auto extravaganza is just around the corner. Yes, it’s the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show, whose gates will go wide from Tuesday 12th of November 2019 - a lot is already buzzing about the show. From some of the greatest tech demonstrations to world-class premiers to millions of Dirhams worth of supercars, this show will have it all. There is absolutely no reason to miss if you are in Dubai and especially when fuel runs in your veins.
To be spread across 85,000 square metres of the area at the World Trade Centre, this will be 15th edition of the Dubai International Motor Show. It is considered to be the largest motoring show across the Middle East and North Africa. Auto manufacturers from all over the world will take part who will be joined by the regional distributors, industry experts and media professionals. And of course, plenty of automotive fans like us.
Slated for five days from the 12th to the 16th of November 2019, the show will witness more than 550 vehicles exhibited by more than 150 global brands. Additionally, it is expected that more than 100,000 visitors will pay a visit.
Fancy bits to expect at the show
A total of 23 hypercars will be on display, including the $10 million Lamborghini Veneno and the limited edition Bugatti Veyron. Additionally, the regional Ajlani Motors will debut its mystery hypercar that is said to be in the development phase from the past five years.
You’d also get to see the fastest electric car ever made in the history of the automotive world, the Aspark OWL all-electric, which is a Japanese production, with 1166 PS of max power. It is said to clock 100 kmph from standstill in less than two seconds, which is mindblowing. Zedro Motors, the Lebanese auto manufacturer of concept cars, will be showcasing and launching the new Notorious, which will be good for 1,267 PS of brutal power.
For racing lovers, there will be the New Aston Martin, F1 Caterham and the Polaris to get up close and personal. These cars will take part in the upcoming Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which is slated to take place in December at Yas Marina.

There will be plenty of globally-renowned brands at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show showcasing their productions. Here are some of the popular ones,

- Nissan - Patrol
- GMC - Sierra line-up, Acadia

Additionally, there will be China’s luxury car marque, HongQi, with at least six new models to reveal and plenty more.
Next up is the Future Mobility, which is for the first time visitors will experience something like this. It to spread awareness and educate visitors about transportation transformation and future possibilities, including autonomous technology and connectivity. This is in collaboration with the world’s tech innovators and service providers and government of Dubai that the show will be highlighting the journey of transportation and motoring industry, including the past, the present and the future of transport.
Visitors will also get a chance to experience the future of mobility via VR (virtual reality). It will allow visitors to enter the capsule concept Hyperloop proposed to connect Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The vacuumed tube will fire the passenger pods at blistering speeds of up to 1,080 kmph.
Dubai Police’s AI-driven initiatives will also be on display that are being deployed across the region for better safety and crime reduction. Additionally, there be classic cars to make you drool and take you back in the good, old times. The interesting part is that if you wish to buy any of the classic beauties from America, Europe and Japan, you can place a bid at the auction hosted by Copart, the leader in auto auctions, during the show.
Mike Jensen and Shadi Dhaheri, globally-acclaimed stunt riders, will also be showing off their mean skills on two wheels at the drifting area. So, if you are one of those crazy drift enthusiasts then this might be the place you should be heading straight to. Not just this, you can also meet Eddie Jordan, the racing legend, who will be talking about future of mobility and sharing memories from his glorious 40 years of racing. You can also try your hand at Remote Control drift where you’d be handling RC cars and get a chance to be named as the champion for the same.
Some fun games and surprises for ladies will also wait as radio channels have planned their bit to entertain the female section of the crowd when men will be rejoicing the moment with supercars at the show. Ladies can win a cash price of AED 20,000 by impressing the audience with their karaoke skills, a bit hosted by Virgin Radio 104.4. While the same amount if offered by City 101.6 FM, if a lady guesses the correct mileage of the featured car. Well, this is not it, Al Khaleejia 100.9 has something technical on offer for ladies, crack the code challenge. If you can crack the code to enter the Lincoln Presidential Navigator, you will get AED 20,000.
Also, the show’s entry is free for ladies between 1 pm to 4 pm from the 12th to the 14th of November.
