W Motors Lykan HyperSport

W Motors wanted the Lykan HyperSport to be fast. The car already appeared in 'Furious 7', a 'Fast & Furious' franchisee film. Ten stunt cars were built for the movie out of which nine were almost totally destroyed during filming. The only surviving unit, though not street-legal, was auctioned off in May 2021. The company also wanted the Lykan HyperSport's interior to have the most luxurious and comfortable interior. The seats are upholstered in high-quality leather that looks and feels classy. The steering wheel gets thick race-Alcantara seats to maximise driver's comfort. All seats get contrasting gold stitching. The car comes with advanced holographic technology. It allows the driver to interact with the interface through voice command and gesture control, without using the touchscreen unit or physical buttons. There are no plastic parts in the cabin. Everything is platinum and gold.

The name of the 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport is derived from ‘lycanthrope,’ which means wolf-man. W Motors claims that the naming conforms to the car's nature to transform into a ferocious animal, performance-wise. The Lykan HyperSport gets a handcrafted, carbon-fibre body. There are a number of angular nodes. The overall styling is 'V' inspired, which is the Arabic symbol for seven. There's a deployable rear spoiler. The company claims that the doors are reverse dihedral-type. According to W Motors, the car's headlights comprise 440 diamonds that have been incorporated into the LED lighting. News reports suggest that only seven units of the 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport were built and they were individually numbered. The car's exterior design has been termed outrageous by many automobile experts. The car runs on forged aluminium 19-inch and 20-inch wheels in the front and back respectively. W Motors partnered with Ruf Automobile to build the Lykan HyperSport. The German manufacturer once designed Porsche cars. The HyperSport reportedly shares its underpinning with the Ruf-built CTR3 supercar. 

The 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport is a compact coupe. The seats are nicely bolstered and they get multi-level electronic adjustment and lumbar support. They form a sort of cocoon and keep the occupants in place so that they are not dislodged during high-speed cornering. There's enough legroom in the front. But the dihedral door means that the driver has to enter the car in a slanted posture. The multifunction steering wheel is telescopic and reach-adjustable and the driver can easily find the most comfortable driving position. There's no boot space at the back as the 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport isn't a passenger car.   

The 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport is equipped with a twin-turbocharged, six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 720 PS. The Ruf-sourced motor is mated to an automatic transmission. The car is blazingly fast and its aerodynamic design aids its performance. Handling of course needs practice as this is no daily-commuting car.   

The 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport comes with advanced driver-assist features that's among the best in class. The safety equipment includes a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and a voice recognition system. It's a limited-production car and the exact safety features are yet to be known. W Motors claim that the car comes with a voice-activated braking system. But that's yet to be tested.   

At a starting price of AED 12.49 million, the 2024 W Motors Lykan HyperSport is the most expensive in its class. However, doubts remain about its long-term feasibility as W Motors is a relatively unknown brand. Most buyers will prefer well-known brands like Porsches and Ferraris. Availability of spares also remains a concern.
