Mini Coupe Interior & Features

Just like the eye catching exterior design, the interior is equally convincing. The sporty theme of the car is accentuated by the lightweight body hugging seats fabricated with top notch materials that are bound to offer you the adrenaline rush. All the controls inside the car have been positioned ergonomically which gives you swift and intuitive access to all the features. The contrast stitching in Chilli red on the gearshift and handbrake gaiters alongwith the leather wrapped 3 spoke steering wheel with accentuating contrast stitching in a funky sporty red employed in the John Cooper Works interior package, is the cynosure of attraction. The car has been embedded with various infotainment features, the most notable of them being the optionally available Mini navigation system that can provide navigation instructions via voice prompts and on screen arrows and maps. The boot space provided in the car is decent and measures 280 litres.

Coupe Exterior

With its peculiar exterior body, the new Mini Coupe leaves an indelible impression wherever it goes. The design of the car is imbued from a contemporary theme which is accentuated by the nose shaped bumper and the curvy wide screen which gives rather an adorable looks to the car. The extroverted body shape alongwith the low roof and integrated spoiler connotes athleticism. The optionally available sport stripes available in black, silver and red are quite striking. Mini Coupe comes employed with 15 inch, 16 inch and 17 inch dark finish alloy wheels that look dynamic even when the car is standing still. The car comes in mini vehicles category which is quite evident from its dimensions which, across all the variants, range from 3728-3758 mm x 1453-1459 mm x 1378-1385 mm and the wheelbase provided measures 2467 mm which is appreciable.

Mini Coupe Engine & Fuel Consumption

Mini Coupe is available in 3 variants namely Mini Cooper Coupe, Cooper S Coupe and John Cooper Works Coupe and all these variants are powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine. The revolutionary 4 cylinder twin scroll turbo engines are the reason why Mini Coupe is such a pulse-quickening sports car. The maximum power delivered across all the 3 variants ranges from 90 kW at 6000 rpm to 155 kW at 6000 rpm while the peak torque reached ranges from 160 Nm at 4250 rpm to 280 Nm at 1850-5600 rpm. Despite its stunning performance, the car never uses more fuel than absolutely necessary. Mini Cooper Coupe can give an exceptional mileage of 18.5 kmpl which is quite laudable. The agile character of the car simply responds perfectly to the accelerator. John Cooper Coupe can attain 0-100 km/hr mark in mere 6.4 seconds and can clock a top speed of 240 km/hr which is quite a laudable figure for a car of this segment.

Coupe Braking & Safety

With the combination of a single joint spring strut front axle and a multiple control arm rear axle, Mini Coupe is bound to offer you a sporty yet effortless drive. The wheels have been incorporated with disc brakes which works in harmony with Anti Lock Breaking System (ABS) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC) to ensure you an optimum braking performance in any situation. The British engineers have been quite vigilant regarding the safety of passengers and have equipped the car with copious safety features like 6 standard airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, the rear view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function and advanced roll-over bars ensuring the occupants, a safe ride.

Verdict:

The retro Mini Coupe is a cheap to run, exceptional to drive and full of character mini car which comes with a spacious cabin equipped with plenty of comfort features. However, the car is not available in diesel powered engines which might settle a bit of disgruntlement.
