Ferrari SF90 Spider Interior & Features
On the inside, the Ferrari SF90 Spider looks as dramatic and drop-dead gorgeous as it looks from the outside. The entire focus of the design of the cabin of the Ferrari SF90 Spider is concentrated towards the driver’s cockpit, with the minimalist centre console also facing towards the driver in a layered fashion. As usual, Ferrari provides an immense number of customization options to personalize the interior as per one’s taste.
Starting with the three-spoke multi-functional steering, it has touch-controlled functions over its side spokes, which have wide designs and come with a gloss black finish. Behind this steering wheel sits a massive 16-inch curved TFT screen for the instrument console, which has a centrally-placed tachometer and features crisp-looking displays and graphics for various data on board. The sides of the instrument console binnacle have wedge-shaped AC vents, with touch-controlled panels for mirror adjustments and climate control settings on either side.
SF90 Spider Exterior
As expected, the Ferrari SF90 Spider differentiates itself from the two-door SF90 coupe with a retractable coupe, making it look as breathtaking and curvaceous as the coupe version. The low-slung stance and extremely curvy design of the Ferrari SF90 Spider make it a traditional Ferrari supercar and a sure-shot head-turner, bettered only by the presence of modern elements like all-LED illumination.
At the front, the Ferrari SF90 Spider has a cab-forward design, comprising of several aerodynamic elements like a sleek bonnet with bulging sides and air passages neatly integrated into the lower end of the bonnet, the lower housings of the C-shaped all-LED headlamps and the massive air dam spreading across the width of the front bumper, partitioned only a trapezoidal carbon fibre splitter in the middle.
The beautiful curves of the Ferrari SF90 Spider flow towards its side profile, where they blend extremely well with the low-slung design of the supercar. Here also, the SF90 Spider gets neatly integrated air passages in the front fenders and within the rear fenders behind the sleek-looking door panels. The Ferrari SF90 Spider also gets extremely curvy-looking front and rear fenders, with 20-inch alloy wheels and massive rearview mirrors mounted on the door panels.
The Ferrari SF90 Spider looks visually dramatic the most at the back, with the supercar having a twin-part rear wing inspired by the drag reduction system used in Ferrari’s Formula 1 race car. Here, this rear wing has a fixed element that comes with an incorporated brake light, while the retractable part is operated using electric actuators as and when needed to increase downforce. The additional elements of the Ferrari SF90 Spider also include a hexagonal cover for the engine bay, dual quad-shaped LED tail lamps, dual rounded exhaust ports in the upper central part of the rear bumper and a massive split diffuser over the rear bumper’s lower part.
Ferrari SF90 Spider Ride & Handling
The Ferrari SF90 Spider feels even more future tech-ready with amazing work done under its skin for its chassis and other electronic riding aids assisting it to make it a highly-involving supercar to drive. The SF90 Spider has electric side slip control for a more controlled and optimal distribution of torque on all four wheels. When combined with electronic tractional control and a new brake-by-wire system, the electric side slip control gives the SF90 Spider enhanced braking and torque vectoring.
SF90 Spider Engine & Fuel Consumption
The longitudinal rear-mounted mid-engine of the Ferrari SF90 Spider is a state-of-the-art powertrain, which is a plug-in hybrid powertrain – the first for a convertible car from Ferrari. Here, a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine is paired to three electric motors – one on a transmission and one on each front wheel, all of which work together to churn out a combined power output of 1000 PS.
Paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the powertrain also has a 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, which offers a pure-electric range of 26 km. With a claimed fuel efficiency of 6.4 litre/100 km, the Ferrari SF90 Spider is easily the most fuel-efficient car with a Ferrari badge ever. At the same time, it doesn’t compromise on performance, with it having a claimed top speed of 340 kmph and a 0-100 kmph sprint timing of 2.5 seconds.
Ferrari SF90 Spider Braking & Safety
The safety net offered as standard in the Ferrari SF90 Spider includes front and side airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, vehicle dynamic control and more.
SF90 Spider Verdict
With state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid powertrain, scintillating design and tech to make its driving dynamics sharper, the Ferrari SF90 Spider can make one go crazy with its breath-taking driving experience.
