Chevrolet Silverado LD

The overall cabin layout of the Chevrolet Silverado LD looks premium and high-tech, which makes it one of the most advanced-looking cabins among all the pickup trucks put together. It comes with an all-black leather upholstery theme as standard but is accompanied by wood and satin chrome inserts.

The four-spoke multi-functional, and electrically-adjustable steering wheel features satin chrome inserts for its spokes. The AC vents on the dashboard corners and centre console surround get premium dark chrome inserts to make the cabin look rich and premium. A smooth-looking layer of satin chrome flows through the middle of the dashboard, which partitions the centre console into two parts.

The Silverado LD comes equipped with a full-TFT 12.3-inch instrument console behind the steering wheel and a large 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the asymmetric centre console. There are clusters of buttons for the audio system and the multi-zone automatic climate control in the centre console. The cabin is nicely equipped with more features like a 7-speaker BOSE audio system, wireless charger, powered and perforated front bucket seats, push start-stop button, and more.

The overall exterior design of the Chevrolet Silverado LD looks much more different from the HD versions of the truck. However, they still manage to possess the rugged, intimidating appeal that the Silverado truck has always been known for.

At the front, the Chevrolet Silverado LD comes with a huge-looking grille, which is split into two halves and comes with all-LED headlamps placed adjacent to the upper edges of the upper half of the grille. Below the all-LED headlamps, the Silverado LD features C-shaped daytime running LEDs. All the variants of the Silverado LD come with different-looking front bumpers – while it is an all-chrome unit in some variants, a couple of them get rugged, off-road spec bumpers with specialized tow hooks.

The side profile of the Chevrolet Silverado LD makes the truck look mighty and tall, thanks to the high-running bonnet line, large-sized doors, and window panels. All the variants of the Silverado LD come with a different-looking set of alloy wheels, with the top-spec off-road versions getting a dual-purpose chunky-looking set of tyres below the rounded wheel arches. The Silverado LD also comes with stylish-looking door-mounted rearview mirrors.

At the back, the Chevrolet Silverado LD has cool-looking pair of vertical tail lamps on the sides of the deck lid, which come with dual L-shaped LED inserts within them. Here also, the bumper looks different for the varying variants, with all of them featuring dual exhaust ports.

All the variants of the Chevrolet Silverado LD offer different mechanical setups, which make them excellent machines for both towing duties and off-road driving. The off-road spec variants of the Silverado LD come equipped with Z71 off-road suspension, monotube shocks, a 2-inch factory suspension lift kit, mud terrain tyres, front and rear e-lockers and Multimatic DSSV dampers.

There are three powertrain options offered in the overall lineup of the Chevrolet Silverado LD. The smallest of them all is a 2.7-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 310 PS of power and 583 Nm of torque. The other two engines are V8 powerhouses – while the smaller 5.3-litre V8 claims 355 PS of power and 518 Nm of torque, the larger 6.2-litre V8 offered in the ZR2 and High Country variants delivers 420 PS of power and 624 Nm of torque. While the V8s are offered with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the four-cylinder turbo-petrol comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Chevrolet Silverado LD comes equipped with a host of safety features, including the must-haves like airbags all around, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, hill descent control, traction control, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. The list also includes modern ADAS features, including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Chevrolet Silverado LD impresses mightily with its huge and intimidating stance, premium and feature-rich cabin, and off-road driving prowess, which makes it a great premium truck to live with and aspire for.
