Introduction

Being the fantasy of many auto freaks, the British luxury sports car manufacturer 'Aston Martin' has been producing some staggering masterpieces since 1913. After almost a century passed, but Aston Martin has not left the podium and is still an eminent performer in the auto world. Adding up the recent face-lift in its success list the brand is out with the new “Aston Martin DB9”. First model to be born at the Aston Martin's Gaydon facility, the DB9 was introduced at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show. With some dismal reviews to its previous model, the brand has come up with its transformed version that makes it undoubtedly a spotless masterpiece.

Astonishing sporty design the car is also transfered to the cockpit of the DB9. Full-grain leather interior with walnut fascia trim makes you feel wrapped in luxury. Driver oriented cockpit of the car offers you a full fledge sporty driving experience. Electrically adjustable sporty leather seats with motor sports inspired steering wheel will make you make yo feel driving in an F1 track. Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) displays of the Aston avails you with almost every driving parameter. Bang and Olufsen BeoSound audio system of the DB9 comes affixed with ICE power technology that offers you a quality auditory. With a moderate luggage area the car holds a cargo volume of 197-litres.

For the awe-inspiring body design of the DB9, the brand must have hired some professional sculptors that makes it the most prolific masterpiece of the Aston line up. Coupe body style of the DB9 holds a VH body structure with aluminum composition to the robust design. Signature radiator grille and imposing hood of the coupe is the legacy that the brand is following to its every model since its set up. Single bi-xenon headlamps with jeweled in LED side lights suits to the elegant persona of the car. Measurement of 4720mm X 2061mm X 1282mm throws a sporty sense to the kammback structure of the coupe. 20-inch silver tinted alloys of the DB9 accommodates an all-season Pirelli tyre size of 245/35 ZR20 at the front and 295/30 ZR20 to the rear.

This timeless mean machine also comes in a special carbon black edition having both coupe as well as convertible variant, that makes it the most enthralling masterpiece of the era. Traditional longish hood of the DB9, accommodates the glorious AM11 engine roaring out with a maximum power of 510 bhp at 6500 rpm. Efficient rear wheel drive train of the Aston is availed with a tyre burning torque of 620 Nm at 5500 rpm. With newly added “Touchtronic II” transmission, the DB9 guns from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, at the same time with flawless body design and light weight body composition allows it hammer on a top speed of 295 km/h. Though giving such a high performance, the DB9 still manages to deliver a combined mileage of 5.05 km/L. (we aren't complaining)

Carbon ceramic brakes with ventilated discs comes with anti-lock braking system and electronic brake distribution that reduces the risk of accidents caused by sudden braking. Electronic brake assist reduces the brake exertion force thus offering a fatigue free driving experience. Lightweight aluminum built independent double wish bones on the corners are equipped with three-stage adaptive damping system (ADS) that offers a stabilized ride even at varied road conditions. Traction control system of the car grips the tarmac by offering equal amount of torque to each wheel thus reducing the risk of slippage while maneuvering critical turns. Sophisticated HID xenon gas bulbs increases the seeing distance up to 70%, as compared to its previous models.

Verdict

With breathtaking performance and artistry design, the DB9 stays thriftier than its predecessors. Besides these, the standard fitments of all most all trims makes it a practical comfort package.
