Volvo EX30 on cards for mid-June global release
ABU DHABI: Volvo cleared its plans at the debut of EX90 that it will rigorously work towards expanding its EV lineup. Further adding to the strong lineup of EVs is the EX30, which will be positioned between the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge. According to the Australian website CarSales, the EX30 is expected to make its global debut by mid-June.
According to Jim Rowan, Volvo’s Head, the EX30 will cater to the younger demographic and has a chance to top all other Volvo models in sales. The Swedish carmaker sold 615,121 vehicles overall in 2022 globally. It aims to sell 1.2 million vehicles annually by 2025, with electric vehicles making up half of the total.
In some areas, Volvo is anticipated to offer the compact SUV through a subscription service. In this regard, Rowan remarked that a minimum of three months would be required for the subscription to be made available.
After making its premiere in the middle of June, the EV will be produced in China, with deliveries starting by the end of the year. Currently, the Volvo UAE lineup lacks the inclusion of electric cars, but looking at the massive expansion in its global lineup, we may soon see some of the brand’s electric models running on the UAE roads soon.
