Toyota spends 3.5 hours inspecting each Century SUV

ABU DHABI: The Toyota Century SUV built in Japan at the company's Tahara plant goes through a rigorous inspection process of around three and a half hours consisting of seventeen steps. A designated 'master inspector' conducts all final checks. These inspectors are trained rigorously for comprehensive inspections. The inspection was carried out to ensure the highest quality standards and deliver excellence in the Century SUV lineup.

The inspector checks the panel gap joints, paint, panel gaps, and engine bay of the car. The car is sent to the "Coating Clinic" if defects are encountered during the paint inspection. After the inspections are done, the Century SUV self-drives autonomously in the mechanical bay through simulated city conditions, using its hybrid setup. 

Due to this strict inspection process, Toyota has projected that it will be able to produce only 30 Century SUVs every month.

Toyota also emphasizes safety. The inspection also assesses the safety features, such as the advanced driver-assistance systems and airbags. This dedication to safety showcases Toyota's commitment to not just providing an ordinary vehicle but also a secure commuting partner.

The Toyota Century SUV has a taller and wider profile than its sedan version. Its interior is a sanctuary of luxury equipped with top-notch features like fold-flat seats, dual 11.6-inch TVs, rotating picnic tables, a refrigerator, and touchscreen controls. 

The Toyota Century SUV is powered by a plug-in hybrid system with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, generating around 406 hp. The electric range of the Toyota Century SUV is around 69 km.
