Toyota introduces customisable Rangga concept truck at GIIAS 2023

ABU DHABI: Toyota unveiled the Rangga compact pickup concept at the ongoing 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The concept's main intention is to provide buyers with a platform they can personalise according to their needs. At GIIAS 2023, Toyota showcased the interpretation of the Rangga variants, including the Ambulance, Mobile Cafe, Pace Car, and Mobile Service Station for EVs.

Toyota has not disclosed the Rangga concept's technical details. But certain speculations have been made after seeing the photos. The Rangga concept is anticipated to have a rear-wheel-drive configuration, with a diesel and petrol engine and an electric vehicle powertrain option.

Rangga's modularity isn't only fitted to industrial autos, but a contest has been launched in Indonesia wherein the general public has been invited to submit the best concept for personalization.

 "Public Service x Business x Lifestyle" is the theme of the competition. This theme reflects the belief of Toyota in this compact truck's versatility. The competition encourages the general public to propose the Rangga concept's modifications, available in a flexible chassis cab form. It is also a reminder that chassis cab and single cab vehicles have relevance, even in ASEAN markets.

When the production-ready Rangga is released, local up-fitting specialists will personalise the vehicle to cater to the unique client needs. Toyota is fostering partnerships with local conversion enterprise representatives at the Indonesia International Auto Show. This will help potential buyers to have meaningful discussions about the various customisation options available.
