Toyota Indonesia launches the all-new Yaris Cross with a hybrid variant

ABU DHABI: The all-new Toyota Yaris Cross was unveiled last month and received tons of attention. Now it has been officially launched in Indonesia. The all-new Toyota Yaris Cross for the ASEAN market is distinct from the TNGA-based Yaris Cross available in Europe and Japan. 

The all-new Indonesia-spec Toyota Yaris Cross is available in three variants- the S Type, G Type, and the S HEV Type. The S Type variant costs IDR 407.7 million (AED 100336.39), the G Type variant costs IDR 351 million (approx AED 86382.32), and the top-spec S HEV hybrid variant is priced at IDR 440.6 million (approx AED 108433.20).

The highlights of the exterior of the Indonesian-spec Yaris Cross include the following:

• Front fog lamps and LED headlamps
• A kick sensor and an electric power boot in the S variant
• 17-inch alloy wheels in the G variant and larger 18-inch alloy wheels in S and S HV variant

PT Toyota-Astra Motor, which is the official distributor of Toyota in Indonesia, is also offering an enticing option for Yaris Cross buyers. It is offering a GR Parts Aero Package for S HEV hybrid and S variants. The package includes a rear bumper garnish, a front grille garnish, and a rear ducktail spoiler.

The Toyota Yaris Cross underpins a 2,620 mm long wheelbase and measures 1,770 mm wide, 4,310 mm long, and 1,615 mm tall. 

The new Yaris Cross S Type and G Type have a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol mill generating a peak torque of 138 Nm and a maximum power of 106 PS. The S HEV Type is the hybrid variant, which features a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine making 121 Nm of torque and 91 PS and an 80 PS/141 Nm electric motor. The latter is fed by a lithium-ion battery pack.
