Toyota aims to win 6th Le Mans championship

ABU DHABI: Toyota is all set to compete again in the Le Mans race aiming to win the title for the 6th time at this iconic event. Toyota's participation will definitely make the legendary French endurance race even more exciting, marking another chapter in its motorsport excellence-storied history. As the countdown begins, enthusiasts await the breathtaking performance of Toyota’s cars on the Le Mans circuit.

The Le Mans 24-hour race will take place on June 15-16, 2024, at the La Sarthe circuit. Toyota Gazoo Racing will use two cars (#8 GR010 Hybrid and #7 GR010 Hybrid) to compete against a vast array of vehicles including Cadillac, Ferrari, Alpine, BMW,  Isotta Fraschini, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Peugeot at Le Mans.

Kamui Kobayashi, team Principal expressed confidence in the readiness of the team for the competition. Kobayashi his eagerness to attend Le Mans and contribute to another memorable race.

In the #7 car, the cockpit will be shared by Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries, who recently secured victory at Imola. Sébastien Buemi, Ryo Hirakawa, and Brendon Hartley will drive the #8 car. At Le Mans, five of the six drivers have secured victory, with Hartley known for winning three races, Buemi contributing to four wins, and Conway, Hirakawa, and Kobayashi each claiming one win.

In the top class at Le Mans, de Vries, a Former Formula 1 driver, will debut, highlighting the iconic status of the endurance race in the World Endurance Championship. De Vries, a Toyota race driver, anticipates a furious battle for victory and looks forward to facing the challenge of Le Mans and achieving victory.
