The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600; a sumptuous ode for the ‘Sheikhs’

Gandalf once said, “A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to”, the wizard here is Mercedes-Maybach. While everyone of us were jazzing over DBX, Cullinan or for that matter the Urus. Mercedes was busy fostering its rival for the jewels of the SUV segment. They presented us with the GLS 600 4Matic.

A timeless ode to luxury and opulence, this GLS 600 is no more than Musa’s chariot (Musa being the richest man in history and you should take a look at his chariot). There isn’t an inch where this vehicle can dissatisfy its future buyer.

This isn’t like the GLEs, you will find that three-pointed star over its hood that leaves the grille to flaunt its magic. What intrigues is the addition of 22 or 23-inch chrome brushed alloy wheels, which are like ‘Moscow Mule’ with Caviar to our eyes.

Driving this golden bull is a 4.0-Liter V8 coupled with 48v mild hybrid system which produces a 550 hp of power and 730 Nm of torque. Clapping itself to the 100 kmph barrier in just 4.9 seconds, this SUV is not heavy on its heels.

What really infatuated us to this SUV was its interior styling. Kicking the third-row seat out of the stadium, this GLS is equipped with lounge-style seats. Dedicated ‘AIRMATIC’ will always be ready to make that ‘Miles Davis’ more intriguing for you. A secret hide-out for wine-glasses comes standard and that is definitely going to leave you awe-struck.
