Teaser treat - 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat displays retro-inspired look
ABU DHABI: When Dodge SRT first unveiled the Challenger Hellcat in 2014, it literally blew the entire automotive world away. The American muscle car came tuned with a 6.2-litre HEMI V8 engine that was loud enough to pass on the chills with its 700 PS of power.
Now after four years of dominance in the category, Dodge decided to give the Hellcat its first facelift. Thus making it get-going with the changing time. What, however, contradicts is the old-school design language Dodge adopted for the upcoming Challenger Hellcat.
Seeing the teaser images, one thing can be said for sure that Dodge is trying to bring back the golden era charm with the 2019 Challenger Hellcat. The purple-colored car seen in the images pays homage to the legendary Dodge cars back from the 60s and 70s. If you think it’s just a pre-launch design setup, then you are sadly mistaken. Officials from Dodge confirmed that this time around the car will carry a retro-inspired look.
The front cum side profile of the car visible in the teaser shows a sinister-looking, dual-snorkel hood. Turning pages from the past, this fully-functional hood sucks air through its large vents, which is then passed to the supercharged mill.
Though nothing more is made official apart from the 2019 Hellcat teaser images, substantial remorses are going around its offerings. It is being said that the new Challenger Hellcat will mirror tech-details of the ongoing Challenger SRT Demon. In the list of 'could-be' included features are present - wide Nitto tires, Trans Brake, and Air-Chillers. On the mechanical front, if the existing HEMI V8 engine gets a slight bump in power, say around 25 PS, it’s all one could ask for.
That’s all for now on the soon to be launched 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Stay tuned to get the latest update on this American muscle car.
