SsangYong reveals refreshed 2025 Actyon SUV

ABU DHABI: SsangYong, acquired by the KG Group in 2022, is expanding its lineup with new models. The latest addition, the coupe-styled 2025 KGM SsangYong Actyon, has been unveiled in South Korea.

While the BMW X6 is considered the original Coupe SUV the original SsangYong Actyon preceded it by three years. It boasts a unique sloped rear end that looks similar to traditional two-door coupes.

The design of the new Actyon is inspired by the upcoming Torres SUV. It will have similar front-end elements such as light clusters but stands out with body-coloured wheel arch claddings, LED-patterned grille, and a modern light-bar design. This model is an important part of the strategy of SsangYong under new ownership to expand its lineup and compete with emerging Chinese manufacturers and established Korean brands.

KG Mobility has not revealed anything about the additional specifics of the new Actyon, like its interior images or powertrain options. However, government certifications indicate that it will have many similarities with the Torres, which is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces around 280 Nm of torque and 125 kW of power. This engine is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission, available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive configurations.

The Actyon is set to debut in the South Korean market, with pre-orders opening simultaneously. KG Mobility has announced that the SUV will be available as early as August, ensuring a swift rollout to meet market expectations and consumer demand.
