Skoda to unveil new compact SUV by early 2025 worldwide

ABU DHABI:  Skoda has announced that it is working on a new sub-4 meter SUV. It has teased the rear-end design of its new compact SUV. This upcoming model will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform, similar to Virtus, Taigun, Kushaq, and Slavia. Skoda's new compact SUV is scheduled for launch by early 2025 and its sale will start in March 2025.

The design cues of the upcoming Skoda compact SUV are inspired by recent models like the Epiq concept. Its silhouette bears a resemblance to the Slavia and Kushaq, especially evident in its interior design. It features various shared components such as the steering wheel, instrument cluster, gear knob, and HVAC controls.

Additionally, this compact SUV’s front doors will mirror those present on the Kushaq. It is anticipated that due to the overall shorter length of the vehicle by approximately 230mm the rear doors will be shortened. The new variant will come with a tighter rear overhang in comparison to the Kushaq ensuring it remains within the sub-four-meter length segment.

A 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine will power the upcoming Skoda compact SUV by producing 114bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It will be available with a choice between a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or 6-speed manual transmission. For urban driving environments, engine-transmission combination delivers balanced performance.

The upcoming compact SUV underscores the dedication of Skoda to sustainability and innovation in the automotive sector, emphasizing localization for eco-friendly competitiveness and recycled materials in interiors. For the compact SUV, Skoda aims for 75% localization.
