Skoda Elroq EV unveiled, offers up to 560 km of range
ABU DHABI: Skoda Auto has unveiled the Elroq compact electric SUV, marking the company's first production model that embodies the new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The Elroq features a revamped front end, highlighted by a wider, flatter version of Skoda's classic butterfly grille, referred to as the Tech-Deck face.

The top-spec Skoda Elroq offers a range of more than 560 km on a full charge.Skoda Auto first introduced the Modern Solid design language in 2022 with the Vision 7S concept. This new look replaces Skoda’s classic butterfly grille with a sleek black panel that spans the front’s width, beautifully highlighted by segmented four LED daytime running lights. On the bumper, the main headlamps have now been positioned, complemented by vertical air vents. The front bumper comes with a faux silver skid plate, robust plastic cladding, and active cooling vents that close automatically to optimize aerodynamics.
Inside, the Skoda Elroq comes with a winged dashboard design with physical shortcut buttons for ADAS, climate controls, drive modes, and a 13-inch central infotainment screen. It also includes a sleek digital instrument cluster and a new steering wheel.
The Skoda Elroq has a 2,765 mm wheelbase and measures 4,488 mm in length. It is the latest compact electric SUV from the brand, built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform. At 470 liters, it has the largest boot in its segment that can be expanded to 1,580 liters by folding the rear seats down.
The Skoda Elroq is available with three different powertrains. The entry-level 50 comes with a 52 kWh battery and 170 hp, offering a range of over 370 km. The 60 variant features a 59 kWh battery and 204 hp, providing a range of over 385 km. The top variant, the 85, is equipped with a 77 kWh battery and 285 hp, offering a range of over 560 km. The 85 variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of around 180 kmph.
The 60 and 50 versions can charge at up to 145kW and take about 25 minutes to reach 10-80%, while the 85 variant supports 175kW and takes about 28 minutes for the same charge. An AWD variant of the 85 that will be available in 2025 features an additional front motor.
The new Skoda Elroq is now up for grabs in the European market, but there is no confirmation yet regarding its arrival in the UAE.
