ABU DHABI: BMW has had an eventful year with tons of product launches, but the excitement isn't over yet. The German automaker is now gearing up to reveal another new model, the second-gen BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. But ahead of the official debut, the images of the refreshed 2 Series Gran Coupe have surfaced online thanks to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

According to leaked images, the LWB BMW M235 L is positioned to compete with the LWB Mercedes A-Class sedan and will be available exclusively in China. This top-of-the-line model, featuring a long wheelbase and performance enhancements, is set to give tough competition to the Mercedes-AMG A 35 L. The styling updates of the LWB version could also extend to the standard coupe sedan.
Reports indicate that the standard wheelbase version of the mew 2 Series Gran Coupe is expected to enter series production in November. This suggests that the model could be launched in global markets sometime next year.
