Renault 5 EV design revealed via leaked patent images
ABU DHABI: Renault recently teased the production version of the Renault 5, and now the design of the car has been fully revealed through the leaked images. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) published the patent images of the third-generation Renault 5 showcasing its design before its global launch in February 2024.

Renault also confirmed that the new model will have a 52kWh battery, providing around 400 km range as per the WLTP tests.
The Renault 5 utilises the Ampr Small platform, which also underpins the 2026 Renault 4. With the help of the multi-link rear axle, this car handles very well. With the help of new motors and battery layout, the overall weight of the car has been significantly reduced. The car's weight has been reduced by 35 kgs compared to the Zoe to enhance its performance and ride quality.
Renault has confirmed that the 135hp motor will be produced at its Cleon factory, where the Megane model's electric powertrains are produced.
