While the design of the 2022 concept resembled a jacked-up off-roader, the production variant appears to adopt a more traditional supermini style, reminiscent of the original model.
The Renault 4 exudes an angular stance and features retro-round headlamps. At the rear, vertically stacked tail lamps add a modern touch, while stylish body cladding accentuates the wheel arches. It is equipped with large alloy wheels offering the EV a masculine look.
New images also hint that the upcoming Renault 4 hatchback will have a backlit front emblem and an optional retractable fabric roof. Additional details include trapezoidal quarter windows, a roof-mounted mini spoiler, and along the door sills, it impresses with its sculpted lines.
Though there are limited details on the Renault 4’s interior it is anticipated to have a dual-screen infotainment system like the Renault 5 and it will have a minimalistic dashboard design.
The design language of the Renault 4 EV is inspired by the larger Renault 5 electric hatchback. Both these vehicles utilize the Ampr Small EV platform. The Renault 4 EV will feature three front-wheel-drive powertrains that are also present in the Renault 5, with outputs of 148hp, 121hp, and 94hp. Battery options that you will get include 52kWh and 40kWh packs.
The production of the Renault 4 is expected to start next summer in northern France at Renault’s ElectriCity hub. It is unlikely to launch in the UAE anytime soon.
