ABU DHABI: Citroën has officially unveiled the production version of the Basalt coupe-SUV ahead of its global debut on August 2.

The new Basalt coupe will be powered by a 1.2-litre PureTech 110 turbo engine, delivering approximately 109 bhp and 205 Nm of torque.The exterior design closely resembles the previously released design sketches. The SUV features a rear spoiler, a distinctive C-pillar shape, wrap-around tail lamps, and conventional door handles. The design is similar to the C3 Aircross, with added projector headlamps and LED DRLs.
According to the latest images, a red paint option will be available in the Basalt, with additional colour choices still awaiting confirmation by the brand.
The cabin glimpses showcase a beige interior with a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a digital cluster, and a climate control system. It also boasts front and rear armrests, with the rear armrests featuring dual cup holders.
In new-generation vehicles, sunroofs have become an important feature, but under the C-Cube program none of the Citroën models, including the Basalt are available with this option. In a segment where competitors offer dual-pane panoramic sunroofs, the Basalt won’t be available with this feature.
According to the report, the Citroën Basalt will be equipped with a 1.2-liter PureTech 110 turbo engine, delivering approximately 109 bhp and 205 Nm of torque. This engine has been designed to offer the perfect balance of fuel efficiency and power, making it well-suited for various driving conditions, from long journeys to city commutes. It will be available with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.
The upcoming Citroën SUV will give tough competition to models like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and Honda Elevate.
