Porsche upgrades its main production plant in Zuffenhausen

ABU DHABI: Porsche is upgrading its Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant with extensive reconstruction measures. The enhancements include expansions and reconstructions to accommodate the next-generation electric sports car production alongside the two-door Porsche variants based on the same assembly line. This upgrade involves an investment of around 250 million euros.

    A newly opened high-bay rack serves the assembly plant with different components. This 35,000 cubic meters capacity fully automated warehouse has 40,650 storage spaces for containers and pallets.

    Albrecht Reimold, Porsche Executive Board for Production and Logistics Member, said that Porsche's Zuffenhausen plant is going through reconstruction for high-quality standards and improved efficiency, enabling the production of electric sports and combustion-engine cars. This will also mark a new era in sports car production.
