Porsche 911 GT3 RS earns coveted EVO COTY award

ABU DHABI: Building on decades of engineering excellence and racing success, the 911 GT3 RS represents the best of Porsche's performance offerings and embodies the commitment of the brand to pushing automotive engineering’s boundaries. Now, the 911 GT3 RS model has cemented its status as an automotive icon as it has received the coveted COTY (Car of the Year) award from EVO, a UK-based automotive publication.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS was honoured with this award after a thorough evaluation of the best-performing cars in 2023 through a series of rigorous comparisons and assessments. The performance, overall driving experience, design, and innovation of each of the contenders were meticulously scrutinised before making this decision. 

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is the newest member of the Porsche Sportmade family. It has been designed to excel both off and on the track. It features a radical design all thanks to the attention to detail that has been put in by the engineers while designing this vehicle. Porsche has put lots of effort into developing this car, making it the best in its segment.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS comes with a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 525 horsepower. It boasts a single-throttle intake system, new camshafts, and a rigid valve drive for exceptional performance. It takes 3.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour and in seventh gear it can achieve 296 kilometres per hour at top speed. It is mated with shorter gear ratios with a seven-speed PDK transmission. 

Some of its unique features include track-focused cooling, lightweight structure, and aerodynamic systems. Its swan-neck-supported rear wing comprises a fixed main wing and an adjustable one. For enhanced aerodynamics airflow under and over the car is divided by a front splitter, while side blades send the direct air outward.
