Toyota sold 888,698 units globally in August 2024 alone, with 149,636 of those sales occurring in the Japanese domestic market and 739,053 units sold internationally.
Additionally, the automaker reported 2,845,880 electrified model sales from January to August 2024, of which 2,601,317 were hybrid electric vehicles, underscoring Toyota's strong position in both electrified and traditional vehicle markets. During the period, Toyota sold 48,464 mild hybrid electric vehicles, 97,058 battery electric vehicles, and 97,666 plug-in hybrids.
From January to August 2024, the automaker produced 6,806,258 cars globally, with 4,463,823 from international facilities and 2,324,435 units made in Japan. In August alone, North America contributed 177,924 units, Asia (excluding Japan) manufactured 268,719 units, and Japan produced 185,680 units.
