Nissan’s 2017 Global sales growth driven by SUVs and Crossovers
ABU DHABI: Nissan has recorded a significant growth of 12% in the global sales last year, driven by the crossovers and sports utility vehicles, with a notable sales figure of more than two million units.
As to the automaker, some of the models that have contributed to this impressive sales volume include the all-new Kicks mini-crossover, the new X-Trail, Rogue, and Qashqai compact SUV models, the refreshed Armada full-size SUV and the INFINITI QX30 compact luxury crossover.
Going by the latest media reports, the X-trail, Rogue, and Qashqai compact SUVs have generated more than 1.38 million sales globally in 2017, which accelerated the sales growth as much as 10%. On the other hand, the all-new Nissan Kicks small crossover has been sold over 109,000 units all throughout the world.
Meanwhile, the refreshed variant of the eight-seater Armada in the United States and the Nissan Patrol in the Middle East have contributed to 79% sales growth, with nearly 80,000 units sold. It denotes the fact that full-sized SUVs are still high on demand.
Talking about Nissan’s luxury models, the INFINITI QX30 has witnessed a sales growth of up to 97%, bagging over 32,000 bookings worldwide. In addition, the QX80 full-size SUV also has accumulated more than 21,000 sales unit.
As per the emerging media reports, the all-new mid-size crossover from Nissan’s INFINITI brand, badged as “QX50”, is likely to be launched next month. Being developed on a brand new platform, the vehicle will flaunt premium interiors along with stunning exterior styling. Furthermore, the luxury crossover will be equipped with world’s first ever Variable Compression Turbo Engine along with advanced semi-auto driving functions that will include both sports car performance as well as eco-friendly efficiency on demand. It will also get innovative features like ProPILOT Assist that will enable you to a more powerful drive.
In addition to the global debut of the QX50, the all-new Nissan Kicks is set to hit the markets of the United States and Canada this year. Both INFINITI QX50 luxury crossover and the new Kicks mini crossover are expected to sustain the Japanese automaker’s supremacy in the automotive industry.
