New BMW G06 X6 debuts with completely revamped design

ABU DHABI: BMW has pulled the covers off from the third generation G06 X6, which features a completely new design. The equipment list of the SAC (Sports Activity Coupe) is more upmarket than its predecessor.

Speaking of its designing, the front fascia is all about the large single-frame kidney grille. It takes all the attention and makes the style more unique. The car now comes with sleek headlamps, which are now isolated from the grille. The SAC gets LED headlights as standard, while the owner has an option to upgrade it to BMW Laserlight with Selective Beam or Adaptive LED headlights. The coaster sports hexagonal wheel arches and features LED taillights, which are slimmer than before. The taillights get L-shaped graphics in the housing. Moreover, X6 comes with two different packages, M Sport and xLine. 

Getting inside BMW G06 X6, there is the brand’s own Live Cockpit Professional system. It features a dual 12.3-inch display with one acting as the touchscreen control panel to help in the infotainment needs while the other works as the digital instrument cluster.

At the time of launch, the car will come with two oil-burners and two petrol mills having the M Performance versions. Among the diesel options, there is a sDrive30d that gets a 3.0-litre turbodiesel mill with variable geometry turbo that can make a maximum power of 265 PS and the peak torque sticks at 620 Nm. Another is the M50d, which pumps out a maximum power of 400 PS along with a peak torque of 760 Nm.

As for the petrol options, there is an xDrive40i having a 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine, which pumps out a maximum power of 340 PS and the peak torque is 450 Nm. The other being the M50i, which is equipped with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mill and is capable of churning out a maximum power of 530 PS along with a peak torque of 750 Nm.

The base diesel option has the maximum speed of 230 kmph, while the rest of the variants can attain a maximum of 250 kmph. The power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and features the BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
