Mitsubishi unveils the all-new compact SUV, the Xforce

ABU DHABI: Mitsubishi Motors revealed the exterior design of its new subcompact crossover SUV last week. And now it has officially revealed the new SUV, Xforce, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2023.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the new Mitsubishi Xforce?

The Mitsubishi Xforce has a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that makes 105 PS at 6000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
  • What are the dimensions of the Mitsubishi Xforce?

The Mitsubishi XForce measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height.
  • Mitsubishi claimed all-new compact SUV, the Xforce, has been crafted to cater to the specific needs of the Southeast Asian region drivers. It is based on the "Silky & Solid" concept and exudes a sturdy design, making it the perfect option to explore urban areas.

The presence of the Mitsubishi Xforce will revolutionise the compact SUV segment in Indonesia. Indonesia will be the first country to sell the Xforce, subsequently extending its availability to Latin America, ASEAN markets, the Middle East, and Africa.

The front fascia is characterised by a pair of T-shaped headlights and an aggressive Dynamic Shield design. 18-inch alloy wheels accentuate the sporty aesthetics of the vehicle. The rear also gets LED combination tail lights that complement the crossover's space-age look.

Despite its compact dimensions, the SUV offers a wide space with 4,390 mm length, 1,810 mm width, and 1,660 mm height. The departure angles are 21 and 30.5 degrees, respectively, and the turning radius is 5.2 metres.

Among the key interior highlights are a 12.3-inch central monolithic display, an 8.0-inch instrument cluster, and a Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system.

Under the hood is a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that has been derived from the Xpander Cross and Xpander. The engine makes 105 PS at 6000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. A CVT gearbox sends power to the front wheels. The four driving modes, Normal, Gravel, Wet, and Mud, make driving the SUV in varying conditions easy.

With the Xforce, Mitsubishi wants to replicate the success of the Xpander, its seven-seater counterpart.
