Mitsubishi Triton/L200 earns highest safety rating from ASEAN NCAP

ABU DHABI: The latest Mitsubishi Triton (known as L200 in the UAE) pick-up truck has received a five-star rating from the ASEAN NCAP. The vehicle has achieved a total score of 74.71 points, proving to be one of the safest vehicles in ASEAN NCAP’s assessment. 

The Mitsubishi Triton is the first pick-up truck tested under NCAP ASEAN’s New Car Assessment Program for the 2021-2025 assessment protocol. ASEAN NCAP has praised Mitsubishi Triton for emphasizing road user and occupant safety and its comprehensive safety features.

The all-new Triton scored 26.01 out of 32 possible points in the adult occupant category, and in the child occupant protection, it scored 44.72 out of 51 points. The pick-up truck scored 15.16 out of 21 points in the safety assist category, and in the motorcyclist safety assessment, it scored 8.18 out of 16 points.

The standard safety features of the Triton include an Anti-lock Braking System, a Seat Belt Reminder System and Electronic Stability Control for front passengers and driver and Pedestrian Protection technology. The safety assist technologies available as optional or standard fitment include Lane Departure Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Blind Spot Detection for both the passenger and driver sides of the vehicle. 

Considering this, those who have pre-booked the new Triton (in the selected markets) can stay assured that their new ride will be the safest on the road.
