Mitsubishi previews new 7-seater SUV production model

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi will reveal a new seven-seater SUV later this month at the Philippine Auto Show. The automotive giant has dropped a teaser image, which provides little information but hints that the new model may be the XForce five-seater SUV’s variant. On the website, the hidden text refers to the new seven-seater model as the “DST Concept.”

The teaser image provides the SUV's bonnet’s top view, showcasing aesthetics that are similar to the XForce. However, it comes with various distinct design elements, such as a more aggressive bumper design and headlights with a similar Y-pattern.

Details regarding the features, engine specifications, and variant list of the new SUV have not been disclosed, but they are anticipated to be similar to the XForce. The XForce comes with a powerful 1.5-liter petrol engine that generates around 103 hp and 141 Nm of peak torque, mated with a CVT automatic transmission. While the new seven-seater SUV is front-wheel-drive, it is available with four driving modes: Gravel, Mud, Normal, and Wet, enhancing its versatility on all kinds of terrains.

The new seven-seater model just like the XForce SUV will remain exclusive to ASEAN countries. We do not have any details about the launch of this model in the UAE.
