Mitsubishi L200: Top features
The all-new Mitsubishi L200 features the Japanese carmaker’s latest design language and one of the most striking pickup trucks available in the market today. The Mitsubishi L200 manages to offer a very comfortable ride quality and gets one of the most spacious cabins in the category. Going up the variant lineup, we find that the more expensive models of the L200 are quite well equipped.
The all-new Mitsubishi L200 is available in a three variant lineup with prices starting at AED 54,900 going all the way up to AED 82,900. The new Mitsubishi L200 comes from a long lineage of pickup trucks with spans over four decades and the current model is the sixth generation of the L200 nameplate. In this list, we will go through some of the top features offered in the latest version of Mitsubishi L200.
1. Towing capacity
Under the hood, the 2019 Mitsubishi L200 is powered by a 2.4- litre, 4- cylinder petrol engine which produces 128 bhp of power and 194 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle architecture of L200 mated with this 2.4- litre powertrain, which comes equipped with a 5- speed manual gearbox can offer a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.
2. Chrome package
One look at the all-new Mitsubishi L200 and you can see its resemblance to the Outlander SUV which is to say that this workhorse pickup truck is one of the most attractive offerings in the segment that also features a modern design. To further enhance the styling of the L200, Mitsubishi is available with a Chrome Package for the Double cab four-wheel-drive GLX variant.
3. Cargo Capacity
The payload capacity of any pickup truck is a pivotal point of consideration when the customer is making his/her purchase decision. In addition to the 3.5-ton towing capacity, the 2019 Mitsubishi L200 can also haul up to 1060 kgs in its single-cab variant which drops down to 1045 kgs in case of the double cab. The pickup truck offers a spacious and incredibly durable cargo bed thanks to its solid reinforcement.
4. Ide Hooks and Rear Body Guards
When transporting important and valuable cargo especially if one plans on using the L200 for commercial purposes which is quite likely, then you want to make sure the payload is well secured. To assist customers in protecting the precious cargo, Mitsubishi has equipped the L200 with rear bodyguards and ide hooks. The bodyguard also ensures that the cabin and its occupants are protected at all times while carrying the cargo.
5. Fuel efficiency
The 2019 Mitsubishi L200 can travel up to 100 kilometres on only 10 litres of petrol. This becomes particularly impressive when we consider that Toyota Hilux requires 10.9 litres to travel the same distance but happens to be substantially more expensive than the L200.
6. The styling
Even though it is a commercial vehicle, Mitsubishi has gone the extra mile and bestowed L200 with several style updates such as redesigned rear bumper and combination tail light cluster. Moreover, the Mitsubishi L200 specs sheet also includes chrome outer door handles.
7. Performance
The 2.4- litre powerplant is a very frugal and capable unit that offers incredible towing and hauling capabilities but the Japanese motor also offers impressive performance figures. The 2019 Mitsubishi L200 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 11 seconds and the top speed of the pickup truck is clocked at 169 kmph.
8. Range
Thanks to its competitive pricing, it is reasonable to assume that Mitsubishi L200 will be used for commercial purposes. Therefore the pickup truck must be capable of offering an impressive long-distance range to make timely deliveries and transport freight in a time-efficient manner. To ensure this Mitsubishi offers a 75-litre fuel tank in the L200 which means that the pickup truck can travel up to 750 kilometres on a full tank of fuel without having to refuel.
9. Equipment
When designing a cost-effective commercial vehicle, comfort and convenience is not a top priority for most mainstream pickup truck manufacturers. This is not the case with the Mitsubishi L200, as the Japanese carmaker offers a factory fitted 2- din CD player as standard across all variants. The music system also comes equipped with FM and AM radio and the unit comes paired to a 2 speaker music system as standard, whereas the top of the range model gets a 4 speaker setup.
