The 2025 Cooper Convertible will hit the global market in early 2025.What are the dimensions of the new Mini Cooper Convertible?
The new Cooper Convertible measures 3879 mm in length, 1744 mm in width, and 1431 mm in height.Where is the new Mini Convertible produced?
The new Mini Convertible is produced at Mini’s historic Oxford factory in the UK.The new Mini Cooper Convertible is highly facelifted like the latest petrol-powered five and three-door hatchbacks. This approach helps in saving costs as Mini makes the transition to electric vehicles. It's anticipated to be the brand’s final new-generation petrol model before Mini transitions in the early 2030s to electric power.
The current petrol Mini Cooper Convertible is considered to be the second-to-last addition to the model lineup. It is anticipated that within 12 to 18 months it will be followed by an electric version, based on the electric Cooper that has been built in China.
It boasts a redesigned cabin and refreshed front fascia, along with updated four and three-cylinder engines. However, unlike the latest hatchbacks, it won’t have the new triangular tail lights. Instead, it retains the rounded light shape and the tailgate design from the previous model, as Mini was unable to integrate the triangular tail lights.
The lights have been updated and they now feature new signatures. On the tailgate, you can see revised badges identical to the latest Cooper hatch. You can open or close the soft-top in 18 seconds electrically at up to 30 kmph speeds, with a sunroof function that allows a 40 cm gap.
The Mini Cooper Convertible offers wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches. Black accents and unique bumpers are available with the JCW Trim styling pack. Measuring 1,744 mm wide, 3,879 mm long, and 1,431 mm tall, the new Mini Cooper Convertible provides around 215 liters of boot capacity with the roof up, which reduces to 160 litres when the roof is lowered.
Inside, the Convertible comes with a simplified centre console with toggles and a 9.5-inch circular OLED infotainment touchscreen. It doesn’t have a dedicated instrument display but you can see details about speed via a head-up display and on the infotainment screen. New "Mini Experience Modes" come with a 'Go-Kart' option with a sound effect. This vehicle offers a choice of JCW sport or standard front seats and wireless phone charging.
In select markets, the Cooper Convertible will be available with a four-cylinder engine, while European versions will be equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo three-cylinder that has been derived from the Cooper C hatch.
The four-cylinder version generates 120 kW and 250 Nm and takes 8.2 seconds to achieve 0-100 kmph with 6.5-6.6L/100km fuel consumption. The Cooper S variant produces 150 kW and 300 Nm and takes 6.9 seconds to reach 0-100 kmph with the same fuel efficiency.
The JCW performance variant’s details have not been revealed, but it's anticipated to generate 170 kW and 380 Nm, an increase from 320 Nm offered by the current model.
The new Mini Convertible is also equipped with advanced safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic parking, and a 360-degree camera.
We do not have any information about the launch of the 2025 Cooper Convertible in the UAE.
