MG Motors to bring three new models to the Middle East

ABU DHABI: MG Motors, the popular British automaker, has informed that it is going to launch MG HS, MG 5 and MG RX 8 to expand its lineup in the middle east. All three models are completely new and have the potential to boost the brand’s presence in the region.

The first in the list is MG HS, which would sell in the market along with the MG GS in the mid-size SUV segment. It is expected that the car will come with the brand’s signature styling cues. The features list of the car is also exhaustive with the inclusion of lane departure assist, and blind spot detection. It also features a digital dashboard instrument panel and touchscreen display of 12.3 inches and 10 inches respectively.

Next, in line, MG 5 has the potential to do well in the competitive B segment. The upcoming offering features a lot of hi-tech options such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen, push-button start, and a 360-degree camera. The car is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine too.

Last but not the east, comes the MG RX 8, which is the first attempt from MG Motors in the large SUV segment in the region. It comes with a spacious interior having enough legroom for the third-row passengers. It comes with six unique drive modes, which include an off-road driving mode too.

MG Motors’ parent company, AIC Motor Middle East’s managing director, Tom Lee said, “A significant trend we are noticing across the globe - and even more acutely in the Middle East - is that buyers are increasingly demanding better quality, style, and technological capability: all at a greater value.“ And he was pretty sure that the customers will get these attributes in MG Motors dynamic model line-up, which is continuously being updated.

It is expected that MG Motors will launch all the three models in the second half of this year.
