Mercedes-Maybach SUV concept to be unveiled on April 25
ABU DHABI: The luxury brand of Mercedes, Maybach, worked on their first-ever SUV last year when Daimler announced the G650 Landaulet, a limited-run model. But with just a year gone by, Maybach is set to unveil its second SUV concept, which would be the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept.
A few days ago, Daimler released a few teaser images of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach. The concept is slated for a showcase at the upcoming 2018 Beijing Motor Show. Now, the most important thing about this Maybach SUV is that it is incorporated with all the luxury of a sedan.
According to some leaked images, the concept Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is a full-fledged SUV under the silhouette of a sedan. However, there are some aesthetic design elements which prove that it is an SUV and not a sedan, like a high roof, large wheels, and a high ground clearance.
The front grille is large and has been taken from the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift. The headlights are slim and look similar to the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet. At the rear, no tailgate seems to appear, as seen on the images.
Once you get inside this concept car, you will be greeted by a luxurious cabin which is adapted from the current generation of the S-Class. The front dashboard imparts a premium appeal with two huge display screens adjacent to each other. The two AC vents are placed on the two sides of the display cluster, with all the button bits placed on the center console. This combination makes for a very clean look. The seats look comfortable too and the rear occupants could enjoy a lot of comfort.
Apart from this little piece of information, no other details are known yet. The company may reveal some more information once the concept is showcased at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show. However, according to some large automobile publishing media around the world, the new Mercedes-Maybach SUV may get a complete electric system under the hood. The SUV will come with a high-performance outburst with a set of four electric engines providing a maximum power of 738 bhp. The 80 kWh battery will have a driving range of over 500 kms.
However, all of these technical bits cannot be taken into account before the concept is unveiled. As of now, all we can do is wait for the mega premiere of the concept coming up on April 25, 2018.
