Mercedes-AMG reveals the all-new CLE 53 Cabriolet

ABU DHABI: Mercedes-AMG has expanded its offerings with the introduction of the 2025 CLE 53 Cabriolet. This performance-oriented convertible, similar to its hard-top sibling, comes with a four-wheel drive system offering a thrilling driving experience.

The CLE 53 stands out with its flared wheel arches, which widen the track by 3.0 inches at the rear and 2.3 inches at the front compared to the standard CLE-Class. It is equipped with AMG light alloy wheels in both 19 inches and optional 20 inches, paired with potent brakes that sport four-piston fixed callipers and 14.6 inches ventilated rotors at the front. At the rear, it comes with 14.2-inch rotors with single-piston floating callipers.

The CLE 53, the latest addition to the mild-hybrid lineup of Mercedes-AMG, shares the 'M256' 3.0-litre straight-six twin-turbo engine with the E 53 saloon. It features a 48V starter generator that enhances the entire setup. The engine produces 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque, which can be increased to 600 Nm for ten seconds with the over-boost function.

The AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet takes 4.4 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 kmph surpassing the Ford Mustang GT and BMW M440i. It has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph, which can be extended to 270 kmph with the optional AMG performance package. The car comes equipped with a nine-speed gearbox and torque-vectoring four-wheel-drive system.

For the gauge cluster, the interior comes with a 12.3-inch floating digital screen and for the infotainment system, it comes with an 11.9-inch floating touchscreen. Additional features include distinctive sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a voice assistant and ambient lighting.

The automated soft-top roof is available in red, black or grey and takes approximately 20 seconds to open or close. It can be operated at up to 37 mph speed. Upon lowering the roof, the cargo area in the trunk is separated from the folded mechanism with the help of an electric divider.
