Mercedes A-Class Sedan to debut next week
ABU DHABI: The sedan variant of the new Mercedes A-Class hatchback is all set to be introduced to the public at the upcoming 2018 Beijing Car Show. This sedan version is believed to come with a stylish look and offer a better utility value. Once on the road, the Mercedes A-Class Sedan will be posing a tough competition globally to the Audi A3 sedan globally.
This sedan variant will be one of the eight automobiles that will be based on the new MFA2 underpinning. The images available on the pre-production model of the sedan variant showcase that the car will feature a slimmer style overall.
The images reveal that the automobile will have a large-sized grille at the front and also a pair of toned-down headlamps. These are similar to the ones spotted on the recently launched A-Class hatchback. The sedan will portray a standard roofline and conventional styling. It is being guessed that the vehicle will feature a longer sedan shape with a modified rear design and more powerful engine. No detailed specification is available now.
The inside of the vehicle is being speculated to have a lot in common with the A-class hatchback. Mercedes’ sophisticated infotainment display, driver assistance systems, and wider digital dashboard might be included in the new A-Class sedan. The driver assistance system will allow autonomous steering and brake up to a certain speed.
The global automobile marque has kept the engine similar in both the A-Class hatchback and its sedan variant. Design language, technology, and equipment used in the car are also believed to have close similarity with the Mercedes A-Class hatchback. The sedan, though, will be an all new derivative.
There is, in the global pipeline, an all-new CLA as well, which may make its debut in the next year. The Sedan derivative and CLA will have different stylings.
Post its unveiling at the Beijing Show, the A-Class Sedan will be primarily targeting the Chinese auto market. The car was spotted being tested a couple of times on foreign land. When it will get launched in other countries, including UAE, is not very clear now. The company has also not revealed much about the specifications and features yet.
