Mercedes A-Class sedan leaked prior to 2018 Beijing Debut

ABU DHABI: A number of cars are scheduled to unveil at the soon to commence 2018 Beijing Auto Show. In the long list of new auto introductions is a Mercedes car that's been making headlines for a while now. It is the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan. Only a week before its reveal, the news of it being a sedan broke on the internet. And now, just a day before its introduction, a suspected image of the new A-Class sedan flooded the online gallery.

Mercedes is yet to confirm whether or not the leaked image is of the next-generation A-class. However, the three-fourth of the car visible in the image tallies with the recently spied and suspected Mercedes A-class sedan.

The upcoming Mercedes sedan will sit on the company’s new MFA2 platform. And as can be seen, will benefit from the new design language giving the car a slim and sleek style. Though, sporting a new look, the sedan will be powered by the same engine resting under the A-Class hatchback hood.

The new A-Class sedan will sport a full-size grille followed by a pair of sharp LED headlights, similar to ones seen in the hatchback version. Crisp contour lines on the hood and doors speak for its aerodynamic quotient. The sedan features a sloping roofline that’ll again add to its performance. The star-shaped alloy wheels, chrome decorated window panels, body-colored door handles, and automatic indicator tuned ORVM are some of the visible design elements.

The A-Class sedan cabin tallies with that of the hatch. Likewise, the sedan might benefit from features like - Mercedes sophisticated infotainment display, fully digital dash, and driver assistance system which allows autonomous steering and breaking up to a certain speed.

The sedan is highly anticipated to display hatchback similar design, equipment, technology, and engine. However, the drivetrain won’t be shared and would be entirely new.

After its global debut at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show, the A-Class sedan would be first launched in China. No information about its introduction in the UAE is shared by yet. However, we are expecting it to grace our land before the year-end.
