Meet the new Aston Martin’s DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition

To celebrate 50 years of the British-French supersonic jet, Aston Martin has revealed a limited-run DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition. The supersonic airliner Concorde travelled twice the speed of sound, offering an absolutely unforgettable experience. 

Taking design cues from the Concorde, the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition features the British Airways Speedmarque logo at the front, British Airways livery at the front lower down the bumper, at the rear wing, rear diffuser, aero blade and on the roof strake. The Concorde jet silhouette on the black fibre roof of the car can also be found. The side strakes are made up of milled aluminium.

The cabin gets an aviation-styled theme, features Concorde logos on the seats, Mach Meter graphics on the driver’s side sun visor, special design patterns on the floor mats designed by the same designer who did the job for Concorde’s interior way back in 2001, Sir Terence Conran and titanium paddle shifters. The titanium has been taken from the Concorde compressor blades. There is also an exclusive Alcantara printed headliner with a ‘sonic boom’ graphic.

Under the hood, the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition gets a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that’s obviously not as quick as the speed of sound like the Concorde jet but you can’t call it slow either. The engine is capable of churning out a max power of 725 PS and a peak torque of 900 Nm. The limited-run DBS Superleggera can sprint to 100 kmph from zero in just 3.4 seconds before attaining a top speed of 340 kmph. 

Only 10 examples of the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition will be built commissioned by Aston Martin Bristol.
