Meet Citroen’s new SUV coupe concept, the Basalt Vision
ABU DHABI: Citroen has unveiled the Basalt Vision SUV coupe, the fourth offering under its C-Cubed program. It will be available in both all-electric and ICE variants and is expected to go on sale in the Indian market in October 2024 before the festive season. It will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv and will make a huge impact in the SUV segment.

The Basalt will be equipped with the same engine that is used in the existing C-Cubed models: a 1.2-litre, 110hp turbo-petrol engine.The Basalt Vision SUV-coupe is heavily inspired by the C3 Aircross in terms of dimensions and design. Its front fascia looks similar to the headlamps of C3 Aircross with a premium projector and chrome-studded Chevron logo. The side profile features pull-type door handles, squared-off plastic cladding, and alloy wheels in a gun-metal finish. The newly designed dual-tone silver and black bumper and tail-lamp cluster add to its appealing look.
While Citroen has not revealed the details of the Basalt’s interior, it's anticipated that in terms of features, it will surpass its predecessors. Notable enhancements may include automatic climate control, electric folding mirrors, cruise control, keyless entry, stop/start buttons, and a wireless charging pad—all available as standard offerings.
The Basalt will be equipped with the same engine that is used in the existing C-Cubed models: a 1.2-litre, 110hp turbo-petrol engine, mated with either a torque converter or six-speed manual automatic gearbox.
Citroen is also planning to come up with the Basalt’s all-electric version around six months after the launch of the petrol model. Further information about the coupe-SUV will be revealed in mid-2024, ahead of Basalt’s anticipated release later this year.
