Mazda 2 Hatchback will arrive on June 21 in Thailand

ABU DHABI: Since its debut in 2014, Mazda 2 Hatchback has undergone two facelifts. The recently facelifted version arrived earlier this year in Japan. Now a facelifted Mazda 2 model is debuting in Thailand on June 21. 

Similar to the Japanese variant, the 2023 Mazda 2 facelift will be offered in three different styling packages. The first one is the BD variant, with a flushed grille and two-tone wheels. The second one is the Sunlit Citrus variant featuring a grille similar to the BD. But this version will not have the two-tone wheels. The third option is the Sports variant featuring a black mesh grille in a shiny finish.

The Mazda 2 facelift is quite similar to its predecessor; however, the hatch has gotten a few upgrades like a front & rear bumper and a new grille and wheels. The mid-level Sunlit Citrus trim and base BD variant of the facelifted Mazda 2 feature an EV-inspired grille design.

The Sunlit Citrus variant will have optional 16-inch dual-tone wheels. It will also come with 15-inch single-tone wheels as standard. The Sport variant of the facelifted Mazda 2 will feature 16-inch exclusive aluminium wheels.

There won’t be any changes in the powertrain option as the facelifted Mazda 2 will come with two engine options- the 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G diesel unit and a 1.3-litre Skyactiv-G petrol like before. 

The Japanese automaker does not offer the Mazda 2 in the UAE, however, the Mazda 3 is available here in both sedan and hatchback body types. It comes with a choice of automatic and manual transmission and is powered by a 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G gasoline engine.
