Maserati’s new supercar set for imminent debut

ABU DHABI: Maserati is all set to launch its latest supercar during Monterey Car Week on August 16. The supercar has been derived from the iconic MC20. The Italian automaker calls it a "new super sports car," but hasn’t disclosed details about its specifics. The vehicle will feature remarkable aerodynamic performance and innovative technology.

Recently, Maserati was busy announcing special edition MC20s and unveiling an electric yacht worth $2.6 million. Now, the luxury carmaker is all set to come up with a new, mysterious supercar with extensive customization options and a unique design. This new model will carry the Maserati GT2’s racing spirit.

The new Maserati Super Sports Car will have an adjustable suspension that can easily shift to racetrack readiness from road comfort. It will have racing car details and won’t focus on interior comfort but suspension. It will utilize the twin-turbo 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 with increased horsepower. The new model is expected to retain the MC20’s dual-clutch transmission.

The new Maserati Super Sports Car will look similar to the MC20 but with more carbon fiber and added aerodynamic enhancements. It won’t borrow MCXtrema’s extreme design elements, such as the rear air intake or shark-like nose. Instead, its interior will be more refined and suitable for two occupants. You can expect a race-inspired steering wheel and seats, but a familiar centre console and dashboard.

The new Maserati Super Sports Car will make its debut on Friday, August 16, at The Quail at 9:12 am PST, alongside the MCXtrema and MC20 Icona. Maserati is known for launching outstanding vehicles during Monterey Car Week, so all eyes are on this launch.
