Limited edition Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo revealed

ABU DHABI: Lamborghini has yet again revealed another limited edition of one of its most popular models at the famous Spa-Francorchamps race track in Belgium. This time around it was not just a usual day to unveil another spectacular product, but it marked the 10th anniversary of the Squadra Corse one-make race. The new model is called the Huracan Super Trofeo.

Lamborghini has its own flair for doing things. Being the occasion of  Squadra Corse 10th anniversary of the one-make race, the Sant-Agata Bolognese-based car manufacturer made sure that the number ten is prominent everywhere.

The new Huracan Super Trofeo is a limited edition model and Lamborghini is going to make only 10 units of it. This model carries a special livery along with Italy's signature tricolor placed at the center. The matte grey and mantis green color combination looks spectacular on this beast. To make things even more special, Lamborghini has given the Huracan Super Trofeo a certificate of origin signed by Stefano Domenicali (Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini), Maurizio Reggiani (Chief Technical Officer at Lamborghini) and Giorgio Sanna (head of Lamborghini Motorsport).

Powering the new model will be the same naturally-aspirated V10 engine that is accompanied by a revamped ECU that boosts the figures from 620 PS to 630 PS. The gearbox is a six-speed sequential X-Trac unit. To handle this much power without crashing, the Huracan Super Trofeo comes with Motec traction control system. The braking duties are handled by Bosch Motorsport anti-lock brakes, aided by the sticky Pirelli P Zero DHD2 tires.

Speaking about the new Huracan Super Trofeo and the 10th anniversary of the Squadra Corse one-make race, Maurizio Reggiani, Automobili Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer, said, “The Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 10th Edition is a tribute to our tradition, a new manifestation of the synergy between Squadra Corse and the R&D Department, two entities linked by a continuous osmosis process: motorsport allows us to perfect the product, which in turn is the basis of the racing cars of the future. They are two spirals that intertwine indissolubly to form the Lamborghini DNA.”

Lamborghini has not disclosed the price of the Huracan Super Trofeo, but considering the fact that it is a limited edition and the standard Super Trofeo already costs a fortune, it is definitely going to be a lot dearer. With only 10 units available worldwide, it would be interesting to see if anyone from the UAE is able to get its hands on this special edition car.
