Limited-edition Bentley Batur Convertible unveiled, only 16 to be produced

ABU DHABI: Bentley introduced the exclusive Batur coupe in 2022, based on the Continental GT platform. With the 2022 Bantur, it bid farewell to the W-12 engine. Now, Bentley has revealed the Batur Convertible whose production will be restricted to just 16 units, two less than its coupe version.

Both these models mark an era’s end for Bentley's W-12 engine, which will be discontinued this summer. The flagship models released in the future will adopt electric powertrains and V-8 plug-in hybrid, with the first Bentley EV expected by late 2026.

The Batur drop-top is Mulliner’s third model after its Bacalar and coupe. It comes with a retractable roof and its price will exceed GBP 2 million(AED 9,167,674).

The new two-seater has been derived from the Continental GT and will be one of the last cars to feature Bentley’s twin-turbocharged W12 6.0-litre engine, generating 750 hp and 1,000 Nm. The top speed is 336 kmph, and the 0-100 kmph time is 3.4 seconds.

Each car can be customized through Mulliner, Bentley's in-house customization division. Buyers get the option to customize the car’s each and every surface, with options including vent controls, a 3D-printed rose gold drive mode selector, and a steering-wheel insert. To craft these unique parts Bentley partnered with Birmingham jewellers.

The Batur Convertible is expected to be one of the last models to feature Bentley's largest engine, hinting at the continued presence of the W12. Before Bentley transitions to new V8 hybrid powertrains, special editions with 12-cylinder engines may emerge.
