Lexus unveils the modified GX 550 Overtrail at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024

ABU DHABI: The 2024 Lexus GX 550 is sparking curiosity among prospective buyers before its official launch with its accessorized and modified iterations. The recent buzz is about the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail that was previewed at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. This luxury off-road SUV concept is the result of the collaboration between JAOS and Lexus. Tailored for off-grid adventures, the GX 550 Overtrail exudes the perfect blend of off-road prowess and opulence.

The modified Lexus GX 550 Overtrail has a more imposing presence than the base model. With enhanced performance and authentic off-road aesthetics, it is all set to redefine your driving experience. It has a sturdy bumper, essential off-road components such as large mudguards, fender garnishes, tube-type side steps, aluminum skid plates, and lightweight ABS resin construction.

The Lexus GX 550 Overtrail JAOS edition also boasts a roof rack for extra cargo space, lightweight 18-inch wheels, and a locking rear differential system. 

Lexus has not disclosed the powertrain details of the modified Lexus GX 550 Overtrail but the standard model features a 3.4-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine, generating 349 hp and 650 Nm of torque. It has a towing capacity of up to 3,629 kg and is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. 

The Lexus GX 550 "OVERTRAIL" JAOS version has been developed in collaboration with JAOS and Lexus, epitomizing the OVERTRAIL PROJECT's vision. This vehicle can conquer challenging terrains. Its unique SUV and 4WD aftermarket customizations make it a great choice for adventure enthusiasts, says the automaker.
