Lexus LBX takes the limelight at TAS 2024 with a jaw-dropping 300PS performance

ABU DHABI: The LBX is the newest addition to the lineup of Lexus. It stole the spotlight at TAS 2024 with its G16E-GTS engine which it has derived from the GR Corolla and GR Yaris. This powerful powertrain unleashes an impressive 300 PS making it an automotive powerhouse. 

Lexus launched the LBX last year and it can be considered the Lexus UX’s smaller version. It is equipped with a Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission with 8 gears. It also carries the Morizo name which is Akio Toyoda’s racing alias. In TAS 2024, this concept vehicle was showcased with the Lexus LBX Morizo’s automatic version, featuring the all-wheel-drive system seen in the GR Corolla and Yaris.

The Lexus LBX shares the Toyota Yaris Cross’ GA-B platform, which is uniquely tailored to meet the standards set by Lexus. It has a low center of gravity, advanced hybrid technology, and wide tracks for an enjoyable driving experience.

On the technology front, the LBX is equipped with an innovative infotainment and multimedia system integrating modern amenities for an enjoyable driving experience. Elegance and simplicity are the hallmarks of its interior, making it stand out from its Toyota counterpart and showcasing the commitment of Lexus to high-quality craftsmanship.

Although the Lexus LBX utilizes the Yaris Cross foundational elements, it distinguishes itself by infusing the shared components with the unique attributes of Lexus including luxury, cutting-edge technology, and performance.
