Lamborghini to unveil Huracan successor on August 16

ABU DHABI: Lamborghini announced the debut of its new model in a press release detailing its first-half sales. The Huracan’s successor will be unveiled on August 16 at Monterey Car Week in California. This event is the one where Lamborghini showcased the Lanzador Concept last year.

Codenamed as 634, the upcoming Lamborghini model is likely to be called ‘Temerario.’ It is hailed to be one of the most awaited supercars of the year, marking the switch of the brand into electrification following the Urus SE and Revuelto, both PHEVs similar to the Temerario. The Temerario has all the qualities to be a top seller and will be revealed to the public soon.

Lamborghini Temerario’s prototypes have recently been spotted, camouflaged but rendered by artists to reveal their design. Lamborghini has replaced the iconic V10 engine with a new turbocharged unit featuring battery-electric assistance and two fewer cylinders. This marks a significant shift from the Huracan’s 5.2L naturally aspirated engine.

The Lamborghini Temerario will be equipped with a PHEV V8 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine. The combustion engine will deliver around 800 hp and 730 Nm of torque, exceeding even the Huracan STO's V10. An electric motor, located between the dual-clutch transmission and V8, will add 150 hp and 300 Nm of torque. 

While the battery, electric motors, and turbochargers will add weight, the outstanding power output will balance it out. It has been developed in Sant’Agata, Italy and its powertrain will come with a 10,000rpm redline.
