Lamborghini Temerario debuts as the 920hp V8 PHEV successor of Huracan

ABU DHABI: After a decade of the Huracán, Lamborghini has come up with its successor, the Temerario, which is equipped with a V-8 engine mated to three electric motors. This new hybrid supercar emphasizes daily usability and features an updated aerodynamic design. With the Temerario, the entire lineup of Lamborghini is now hybridized.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When is the Lamborghini Temerario expected to debut?

The Lamborghini Temerario is expected to debut in the second half of 2025.
  • What kind of engine does the Lamborghini Temerario have?

The Lamborghini Temerario is equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 engine, which delivers 800 PS between 9,000 rpm and 9,750 rpm and revs to 10,000 rpm, making it the most powerful V8 and highest-revving ever in a production car.

The standout feature of the all-new Temerario is its 4.0-litre V8 engine, which delivers 800 PS from 9,000 to 9,750 rpm and 730 Nm between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm. It revs to 10,000rpm, making it the most powerful V8 and highest-revving ever in a production car. The engine features two turbochargers that can boost up to 36 psi, titanium con rods and a flat-plane crankshaft and reduces rotating mass by utilising motorsport-derived materials.

An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission transmits the V-8’s power. Lamborghini improved shift speed and reduced weight by using a hollow shaft that for different gear paths shares synchronizers. This new gearbox is faster and lighter than the seven-speed unit of Huracán.

The engine is paired with three electric motors: a gearbox-mounted motor producing 150 hp, and two axle-mounted motors delivering 82 hp each. The total system output is rated at 920 PS and 800 Nm. It is powered by a 3.8kWh battery and takes 2.7 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 kmph and tops 340 kmph. The battery can be charged via regenerative braking, a 7kW AC port, or the V8 engine.

The Temerario comes with an all-aluminum space frame that improves torsional rigidity by 20% while maintaining weight at 1715kg, or with the Alleggerita package 1690kg, which includes rims and a carbon fibre rear wing. It comes with all-wheel drive and features a drift mode. Drive modes include Strada, Corsa, and Citta (FWD, fully electric). 410mm aluminium discs with 390 mm discs with four-pot calipers rear and 10-pot calipers front handle the braking, with a 32 meters 100 kmph-0 stopping distance.

The design of the Lamborghini Temerario blends elements from the Gallardo and Huracán with new features similar to the Revuelto. It features a carbon fibre front splitter, sharp hexagonal LED headlights, and hexagonal motifs throughout. It also comes with a large aerodynamic vent, a concave roof that directs airflow to the rear spoiler, and a perforated engine bay. The Temerario with its updated aero efficiency is 103% more efficient than the Huracán Evo. With the Lightweight Pack, it is 158% more efficient.

The interior of Temerario is inspired by the Revuelto with a fighter jet-themed cockpit. It features a 9.1-inch passenger screen, an 8.4-inch central display and a 12.3-inch digital cluster adorned with hexagonal motifs. With an additional 46mm of legroom, 34mm of headroom, more luggage space than Huracan, ventilated and heated 18-way adjustable seats, and more luggage space it offers immense comfort. The cabin includes a dashcam, onboard telemetry, and augmented reality navigation.
